Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

Welcome to your first step as a CPE Student at Aurora Health Care-Metro, Inc. CPE Center! Here you have the opportunity to learn spiritual care in an interfaith setting through our hospital-based ministry and reflection in seminars and didactics. We welcome persons of all faith/spiritual traditions who are seeking to develop knowledge and skills as spiritual care providers.

Through patient care and group reflection on the learning process, you will be challenged to integrate your faith/spiritual perspectives and develop greater self-awareness. You will find strong educational and emotional support through individual supervision and peer group seminars designed to encourage personal and professional pastoral growth. You become part of a dynamic team of care givers within a multi-hospital setting.

Exploring life, learning, and ministry

The Center, affiliated with Aurora Health Care, offers clinical experience in the Milwaukee Metro area at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Aurora St. Luke's South Shore, Aurora West Allis Medical Center and Aurora Sinai Medical Center; and East Central Wisconsin in Oshkosh. You will grow personally and professionally as you explore life, learning, and ministry.

Diversity and Inclusion is a core value of Aurora Health Care and the CPE Center. Our patients and their families, volunteers and caregivers come from all walks of life and many cultural, socio-economic, educational and spiritual backgrounds. You may experience CPE in an urban/community hospital, an internationally renowned medical center or an outpatient clinic.
