Laura Clark

Previous Education: B.S. from the University of Wisconsin Madison and PharmD from Concordia University Wisconsin

Short Bio: I am originally from Racine, WI. In my free time I enjoy traveling, barre classes, Badger/Packer games, reading, and relaxing with family and friends.

Factors Considered Most Important When Choosing A Residency: I was looking for an established, reputable program with strong preceptors who enjoy teaching. I was also looking for a larger institution with a wide variety of patients and rotation opportunities.

Why Aurora? Aurora has a progressive pharmacy practice model where pharmacists are given autonomy and are viewed as an integral part of the medical team. I had a few rotations at Aurora during pharmacy school and was always impressed by my preceptor's willingness to teach and develop clinically competent, confident pharmacists.

Current Rotations: Surgical ICU, Medical/Respiratory ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, Cardiothoracic Transplant, Coronary ICU, Neonatal/Medical ICU combination, Neuro ICU, Aurora Health Care Medical Group Rotation

Year-Long Project: Optimizing Vancomycin Exposure Within a Large, Integrated Health-System Through the Creation of a Novel Vancomycin Dosing Algorithm

Future Plans: I would like to be a critical care pharmacist within a tertiary care medical center.
