Ward-based Morning Report is held on both the Aurora Sinai and Aurora St. Luke’s campuses. In addition, there are noon conferences every day on each campus, which cover the didactic core of the Internal Medicine curriculum, many of which utilize video-teleconferencing and audience response systems. A monthly “Academic Half Day” focusing on important issues involved in health care has been recently implemented.

Specific conferences and learning experiences have been developed to address all of the major ACGME core competencies. Among others, these include Journal Club, “Unexpected Outcomes” Conference, and Core Competencies Case Conference, and specialty case conferences. Conferences are often times multidisciplinary, including residents and faculty from other programs, as well as allied health care providers and trainees.
