As a large community hospital with multiple graduate medical education programs, we have unique strengths. Unlike university settings, we are administratively and academically centralized, facilitating greater communication and collaboration among different programs and specialties. Unlike most community hospitals, we provide a large number of GME programs and resident positions, creating a strong clinically-based academic environment.
In addition, we provide training to and interact with trainees in other allied health care fields. The medical center sponsors an in-house Pharmacy Residency Training Program and is a training site for dental, pharmacy and physician assistant students. Working in this multi-disciplinary team structure we all become both teachers and learners.
